Future Guilford Addiction (Methadone) Clinic?

439 Boston Post Road is

THE WRONG LOCATION

ACTION ITEM -- ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 4:00 to 7:00 pm

UPDATE: about 450 people signed the petitions.

There will be a "town meeting" at the Community Center at 7:00 where the APT Foundation will present its argument for the addiction (methadone) clinic.

Please come early to the meeting and sign our new petitions:

  1. The Town of Guilford shall enact an "urgency ordinance" to prohibit the operation of an addiction (methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone) clinic within 500 feet of any residential area or any individual residence, or within 1000 feet of any school or daycare facility.

  2. Insist that this APT addiction clinic be relocated to an industrial zoned area, or to a commercial zoned location that would be at least 500 ft from the closest residence, or at least 1000 ft from the closest school or daycare facility.

We will be set up in the Leete Room, near the front door.

UPDATE: The Board of Selectmen rejected our petition.

The most important thing that Guilford residents can do right now is to send emails to the Guilford Board of Selectmen asking them to approve our below submitted petition which will be discussed at the 2/20/24 Board of Selectman meeting.  Please send your emails to board members:

Meeting on February 9, 2024

About 250 to 300 Guilford residents attended our meeting about the site of the future APT Foundation’s methadone clinic at 415-439 Boston Post Rd.  They learned how the Guilford First Selectman, Board of Selectmen, and Planning & Zoning all approved of the clinic – with no input from the public.

Many spoke out against the location, citing the negative impacts on the neighborhood (near residences and a childcare facility), some from personal experiences.  Only one person was passionately for the location.
